TikTok Shop's rules name three habits UGC creators should check
Reused scripts, reordered clips and visible watermarks all appear by name in TikTok Shop's US policy. Here is where that touches a normal UGC package.

What the policy says
TikTok Shop's US Content Policy shows a last-updated date of October 26, 2026. We could not find a public list of what changed on that date, so read this as what the rules say today, not as a list of what is new.
- Repetitive content. The policy defines this as content published continuously and in bulk that repeats with little new information, even if the music, voiceover or background changes. TikTok's examples include re-posting the same video at high volume with only the clip order changed, template videos with minimal edits, and the same generic sales script for different products. This subsection does not use the word "prohibited" itself, but it sits with the content rules, so treat it as a risk.
- Unoriginal content. Media uploaded without new creative edits counts, and a visible watermark or overlaid logo is treated as a sign of it. The section also covers content where the creator shows little active engagement with the product.
- AI content. A separate AI page, dated September 2, 2026, allows uses such as improving lighting, reducing noise, translating scripts and drafting titles or scripts, as long as the product information stays accurate. It does not allow changing a product's size, color or function, showing results the product cannot deliver, or using someone's likeness or voice without permission. Fully AI-generated or significantly AI-edited content should be disclosed, and failing to disclose it is itself a violation. Minor edits such as color grading or cropping do not need a label.
- Enforcement. Actions range from violation points and content removal to restricted commissions and account removal. Under the Creator Enforcement Policy, dated October 9, 2026, first-time warnings do not affect your Creator Health Rating, though severe violations can be enforced immediately. The same violation six times within 90 days can remove your e-commerce permissions immediately and freeze commissions, whatever your points balance says.
Where this touches UGC work
Variations are the big one. Plenty of UGC packages sell one video plus several hook or call-to-action versions. That is normal for testing paid ads. The policy describes something different: bulk posting of near-identical videos as promotional content. The page does not settle how each version in a paid test would be treated, so do not assume either way. Ask where the versions will run.
From there, the adjustments are small:
- Make organic versions different in substance. If versions will be posted as shoppable content, change the angle, the demonstration or the information. Re-posting at high volume with only the clip order changed is one of TikTok's own examples.
- Reuse a structure, not sentences. A hook-problem-demo outline is fine. The same sales script pasted across products is named in the policy. Write at least one line you could only say after using that specific product.
- Deliver clean finals. A watermark on a preview protects you during review. The file that gets posted should not carry one, and neither should exports stamped by another app.
- Agree who labels AI. If you used an AI voice, an AI demonstration or a synthetic face, say so in your delivery note and agree who turns on the label.
- Never let AI fix the product. Changing a color, a size or a result is on the prohibited list, even if a client asks for it. Say no in writing.
One thing to check before using AI voiceover
Net Influencer reported in June that TikTok Shop's US rules bar AI-generated voices and prerecorded narration in promotional livestreams and shoppable videos. The AI page above lists generated narration as an allowed use. Those two read differently, so check the current TikTok Shop Academy pages before you deliver AI voiceover for a shoppable video.
